Forced displacement is an involuntary move out of the home country and native community in pursuit of safety and survival. Forcibly Displaced People (FDP) include Internally Displaced People, Refugees, Asylum Seekers, Undocumented, and others. Historical, current, future and theological themes are discussed. Displacements of many kinds are found throughout the Bible, and the theology and history of Christianity provide ample grounds to develop missions among and with FDPs of the world. By embracing a holistic approach that addresses the diverse needs and challenges of FDPs, God’s people can fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Lord.
